ΔΙΑΛΕΞΗ ΤΗΣ ΚΑΘΗΓΗΤΡΙΑΣ RUTH KRITZER

H Senior Lecturer της Λατινικής Φιλολογίας Ruth Kritzer του Πανεπιστημίου του Salzburg θα δώσει μία διάλεξη στην αγγλική γλώσσα με θέμα:

"Renaissance Topographical Literature on Rome: from Flavio Biondo to Jean Jacques Boissard" (Δευτέρα, 23 Μαΐου 2011, 19:00, αίθουσα Ε')

Περίληψη:

The paper is presenting the most important topographies of Rome written in the 15th and 16th century A.D. as well as their authors’ criteria and methods. By means of selected examples the premises they proceeded from – autopsy and the use of ancient literature and inscriptions – will be demonstrated. Thus writers like Flavio Biondo, Andrea Fulvio, Giovanni Bartolomeo Marliano or Jean Jacques Boissard shaped generations of topographers, emanating from a new joy in travelling and a rising interest in antiquity’s legacy.
